  • 07 Jan 2021: It has a strong start and an interesting premise, but by the end it feels rushed and the story kinda collapses in on itself. The center just doesn't quite hold. But it's still cute and fun, and it deals with some tough topics with surprising sensitivity. And it's earned a place in my heart for being the book that buoyed my spirits during an American insurrection, so it's got that going for it. (But oh my GOD if I never have to read about a precocious, terminally ill child with an inordinate interest in an adult's love life, it'll be too soon.)
